Julia Shao is a NYC based creative director, graphic designer, and photographer. She is currently working as Creative Director at Topicals, and freelances for various media, beauty, and fashion brands (see select client list below).
Previously, she helped build the Studs creative identity as their launch Graphic Designer and was the E-Commerce Manager at Sandy Liang.
Julia obtained her Bachelors in Science in Integrated Digital Media with a minor in Art History at New York University’s School of Engineering in May 2018.
Her personal work centers around the Asian diaspora and community she’s formed around her struggle with her identity. She founded Chinatown Zine Fair in 2016 as a way to bring community and print mediums together. Chinatown Zine Fair has expanded to an annual event and additionally lives on as a mini-residency, Alphabet Soup.
